    Can I view a .xls file without Excel?

    I just need to view it, dont need to modify it or anything. Do I need to use Excell or will someone else open it?

              you can always try using openoffice. It is completely compatible with most of the MS office suite and its completely free.

                      There's also a free Excel viewer available. I'd guess a new version for Office 2007 out there but didn't look.

                          Internet Explorer will open any Microsoft document for viewing !

                                      You could also use Google Spreadsheets I think (free, all online so no downloads)

                                      And I *THINK* viewing it in IE would onlyw ork if you have Office installed...

                                                      Interent explorer will open any Microsoft based software for viewing if you have it installed on your computer.
                                                      So try to use the google version
