Ambush cop killer is dead..

Suspect in the ambush killings of 4 local police officers was shot & killed this morning. Officer on regular patrol noticed a running vehicle with it's hood up..ran the plate, discovered it stolen.. noticed movement behind his patrol car..got out to find the suspect walking toward him.. told him to stop and show his hands.. he refused then took off.. was shot several times..died at the scene.

Oh.. and he had on him... the service weapon of one of the slain officers that he'd taken from the scene. Local police declare that all those that aided this man over the 40+ hours that he was in hiding will be dealt with.

on top of the thought that his family and friends were helping him during the last two days..

On Saturday.. the day before the ambush.. Clemmons told people to watch the news...he was going to kill some cops. And they laughed it off.. knowing his history.

These are the same people that helped him post $15K in cash on a bond for $150K bail so that he was released from jail on November 23rd..just days before the shootings.

In the beginning of November he was served noticed by the court that if convicted of his most current crime (2nd degree rape of a child) he would be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Guy had nothing to look forward to but life on the run or life in jail so I guess he figured why not go out so that he'd never be forgotten.

Maybe the only good to come from this might be a renewed effort by the court system to keep this people locked up (one can only hope).

Nothing about this story is GOOD news. Unfortunately, there is no one left to punish for this crime so they are going to exact a heavy toll on the people they claim helped him evade the police. I have a hard time with the state putting a mother in prison because she didn't call the police when her son came home to borrow a few bucks before splitting town.
