I have mid-sized tube and I never sell ad spce (I get e-mails asking for it every week). tubes aren't any different from any other site / asset, some will make money others will not. My tube was profitable from the second month as has been ver since.

My view on what some of the larger ones were trying to do was just control a large chunk of adult traffic so that they could then cut deals or sell out. It's a different strategy and it may work in some cases. You just need deep pockets and some apetite for risk to keep it up.

As a tube site owner I know why I sell the ad space. The funny thing is that you don't even understand my reasons to sell it, besides money. So better leave you in ignorance.

The sad thing is that as a program owner you should already know exactly why tubes sell their ad space.

On a side note I don't see any properly operated tube site going down due to lack of sales

Why do affiliate programs even take in affiliates if they could just get the traffic them selves and have a lot less competition.

No, the one for sale is just a project that never took off (because I'm busy with other stuff).
