    a sponsor sold my email to a spammer and I don't know which one

    but i'm going to find out which sponsor it is.
    i'm going crazy with this shit, i'm going to test every fukcing sponsors there is with a different email address until I catch the son of a bitch so your days collaborating with a spammer are numbered

      Do you have many sponsors? How do you think you can find him?
      I advice you to make yourself new sponsors accounts with different emails. (1 e-mail per sponsor) This is the only way I believe.

                          make sure when you sign up to each sponsor you use an email address like this

                          [email protected]

                          and not

                          [email protected]

                          like [email protected]

                          that way there is no question about it, and the email could not have been automatically generated by a spam script

                          if you just use [email protected] you are an idiot, any spam script can generate that shit in 2 secs

                              In most cases it's not the sponsor. The leak is either thru NATs, their server or their processor, or some combination of them.. watch for the pattern once you get going with unique emails. Oh.. and signup to some paysites to narrow it down... ;)

                                      as Jace said, that $sponsorname could easily change it to $competitionname, if you must you need to use completely unrelated and unique string that you could relate to the sponsor, or have a string made of few parts like $sponsor_$hash@...

                                          Very true. Spammers don't just use "valid" email addresses they buy/spider/whatever. Like a password cracker, they'll use dictionary files (words, names, places, domains without the tld, anything that could yeild a hit).

                                          I've created new email accounts and have received spam within no time without ever having used the damn account.

                                                      Well, if a sponsor was really selling email addresses they would filter out all addresses that contain 'sponsorname'. So in that case it would be the best to use something like [email protected] or something.

                                                          I find it quite funny how after you stop promoting a sponsor for a year or 2 it's quite often your address ends up on SPAM lists.

                                                          Always join programmes with alias accounts like somebody said above. Then when the spam comes just add a rule to outlook saying delete all mail going to that address.

                                                              This threat is funny. Random accounts won't stop you from getting spam and chances are the sponsor never sold the email address.

                                                              Only about 1000 ways for a spammer to get your email address, the least likely way being the sponsor sold it to them.
