Depending what sort of forum you have, if it is one for surfers to look at free porn i would not bother, i had one and they are the biggest waste of time and money.

Make a few dozen nicknames for yourself and make the board seem more active. People are a lot more likely to REPLY to something than to actually start a new thread.

I have been thinking about starting to post a lot under different usernames.

Anyone know a phpBB-addon where I can choose which username I want to post under?

I just logout and login again as a different person, or if I am home, have one member on my desktop and another on my laptop(s).

I would make the switch to vBulletin if I were you. I got the shit hacked out of my server using phpBB.

Getting lurkers to read is easy

Google visits me several times a day

I've yet to make a dime on it, but I'm not selling anything

Most (attempted) signups come from commie spammers

I'll be re-doing / updating it this weekend

Only (my lack of) time keeps it from growing
