Autoblogger Pro 1.20 Releases Friday, December 15th

Ho Ho Ho and Happy Holidays from the crew at Relink Software!

Santa has brought a sleigh full of goodies in version 1.20, which will likely be the final release of 2006 in preparation for the chewy 2007 goodness. Included in the additions is the ability to modify posts using Regular Expressions (regex), which will make a lot of little elves very happy. Also included is a major revamp and update to the cron system and other assorted features. A partial list:

    *************MAJOR RELEASE*************

    Vers: 1.20 (Iridium)
    Date: December 15 2006

    ***************************************

    * Changed the method for using cron. It will now require the command to use a username and password to authenticate itself, rather than cookies. This new method increases the ease of use for users without advanced knowledge of using the cURL utility with cookies.

    * Despite attempts to keep the coding environment for Autoblogger Pro at the level of PHP 4.x, changes in technology have forced us to migrate to the 5.x platform. We do not anticipate any affect on the compatibility with older systems, but will keep a closer eye on backwards compatibility and 4.x testing for all future versions.

    * Removed extraneous backslashes from various locations, including the campaigns screen and the posting interface.

    * Added the ability to use regular expressions (regex) with Rewrite rules. This feature is intended for power users to strip out incompatible blocks of text in their feeds, as well as to remove undesireable elements from the posts before they reach a webmaster?s blog.

Forgot to mention we added a Markov Engine to this version. It's in the software as a "beta" function, and is not documented for this release. Upon the official release of the engine, we will of course provide full documentation.

The Regex stuff is kicking ass and taking names. We cleaned up feed MAJORLY using some custom rules.

            Sure thing.

We just lowered the price to $249 for Christmas. This will remain in effect until either Chio or I wake up tonight. We're going to bed shortly, so tell your friends.

Feel free to purchase it if you celebrate something like Kwanza, though.

It has been for some time, it's fixed with "new" installs of Autoblogger.

For reference, for people who don't know, some sponsors use retarded lengths for their URLs. Some go all the way across the page, wrap around, and do it a few more times for good measure.

I mean, these things are HUGE.

So, we've bumped the size of the maximum table length.

If any EXISTING user is having this issue, we can help you manually fix it if you submit a ticket. Please remember not to make a thread or ICQ, as this will only delay support. Ticket system is here:

On second thought, I made the change part of the 1.20 update. Now, as your Autoblogger Pro updates to 1.20, this change should happen automatically for you.

If it DOESN'T, or if you encounter any errors, please submit a ticket. Shouldn't have any issues, though, if you're running a reasonably (post-2002) new version of MySQL.

I have some things to do before going back in and changing the price back to normal. Thanks for the orders thus-far.

Look for more discount days in the time leading up to the end of the year.
