    CNN is burning my TV!

    The damn newsticker at the bottom of the screen is burning into my plasma! I've only had it running CNN just for today, so like 7 hours. If I change the channel it will go away for a few minutes, but damn, my poor TV!

    Anyone have anything funny burned into your TV?

      I turned my TV to Fox News really quick one day to see how badly they were covering a particular story, and an image of satan got burned into the screen!

                      This is why I didn't go the plasma route (that and the fact that I have no window treatments and lots of windows). I put TiVo on "pause" for sometimes hours a day. Right now Sleeper Cell has been on pause for at least 2.5 hours. I'd have terrorists burned into my TV!!!

                                  LCDs dont have this issue...plasma s do LCD is the way to go for numerous reasons...including the fact that plasmas get several times hotter...a big plasma screen can heat a room like a space heater.

                                          Yes this is common for all plasmas, even the new ones despite what you hear but people buy plasmas anyway because they look considerably better than any LCD over 46". If you want a 46" or smaller buy a LCD. If you want bigger there is no perfect solution.

                                                  You sure it's plasma and not LCD? Plasma burn-in is permanent. LCD "Image Persistence" is temporary.
