it all depends on what you consider Rock and Roll as everything now is considered "alternative" but what is it "alternative" to.
There are plenty of bands that i can't stand that some people would call rock and roll. and by current if you mean still making albums, you most certainly can include the rolling stones as they still tour and still make albums. ac/dc would definately fit in that category. U2 would fit. Rock and roll is supposed to evolve. Green Day, Nickleback(they fucking suck) Filter, Aerosmith up until 4 days ago allegedly. Bon Jovi has a new album out on tour.
