geeze, people are taking this movie way too seriously in this thread. the movie looks fakey, hollywood glam in the preview sure. So was independence day, jurrasic park, spider-man, etc etc. All were kick ass movies to watch and very entertaining.

Right, but the original theory is that we will spiritually "evolve." It never had anything to do with destruction or apocalypse until people started changing up the story. Read anything by the Mayans and you will learn that they believe we pass through what they called the "Dark Rift" (the galactic plane) and then ascend into some higher realm or dimension. Will that happen? I dunno, most likely not... but that is what the calendar ending in 2012 is all about, not scary doomsday crap.Comment

They wouldn't create the next cycle, it's the same as the first. Like year over year. They only created one 365 year calendar - and copied it, they didn't create 5000+ unique calendars.
