Here's my take on protecting.
Wash hands, load up in Vitiamin C, fruit and veggies...think shakes, if you have a hard time eating them. Wash hands...and hand santatizer is good, makes sure you get all your hands coverd and under fingernails, eat some fish 2 times week, steam ur veggies, get enough sleep, wipe down (clorox wipes) computer areas, door knobs, light switches, remote controls, and spray with Lysol.
Kids are taking vitamins, and I'm taking echinacea. I also use the clorox wipes at grocery store, kids don't always keep the cart seating area clean.
I have heard of the nasal cleaning deal, but I have never tried it....I could wipe inside the nasal area, but not do a nasal cleaning.
Throw some lemon is your water, and I like to run a warm mist vaporizer in the the Vegas desert, make sure you keep those VERY clean.
