I have no idea what you are talking about. I have known some die hards before but they have never put it that way. First of all it doesn't make sense. If you can't understand anything without the holy spirit and you can not receive the holy spirit without being saved/baptized then you wouldn't be able to know you needed saved.

I think you speak on the subject with little true knowledge. Your statements counter each other, in logic anyways.

I am a spiritual person, call it agnostic if you like, and I sit on the fence when it comes to religion. I see that it does more harm than good.

I spent about 20 years indoctrinated into the church but it sounds to me you stand in an argument with no real knowledge of religion other than your belief there is no God. But guess what? Your belief in NO God is in no way different than the religious and their belief IN God. They are both based on faith in an assumption that can neither be factually proven nor dispelled. Your mocking condemnation is also no different than their perceived religious superiority.

I am not against their bible. I probably know it better than most church goers. There has also been a huge change in christian/religious perspective on the bible over the last few decades. Many theologians and worshipers alike do not believe the bible is all fact but rather a guide with a large part being written symbolically.

I have studied religion in connection with history and the bible gets it right more than it gets it wrong. Outside of parable anyways. What are the errors? What is EVERYTHING?

I agree with you there. Martin Luther believed that reason could not lead men to God and even went on to say that "Reason is the enemy of faith" and that for one to accept God they must become unreasonable.
