I just watched it the other night on my new HDDVD player. Looked pretty fucking amazing, even though I was bored watching it again.

Eh, it's a pretty good remake all things considered. Mostly impressive special f/x, a few that are grossly overstated and unbelievable to the point of retardedness.... (that freaky pole-vault the native does to get on the boat is more likened to a Spiderman flick than this one)

And I don't know anyone except maybe those few high steel workers in the world who wouldn't be shitting their pants standing on something so small and high up in the sky as the top of the Empire State Building, yet there she is and there HE is (her "rescuer", the guy who's in love with her) standing up there like they are standing on a 2nd floor balcony, all calm. Most average people would be frozen in utter panic at that height with no rails (and no parachute!).

But other than that it was pretty good. :D

The dinosaur stampede scene was interesting.

you hit on every point that made me throw stuff at the screen. The special effects that, as you say approach the point of retardedness are what killed it for me. Oh yeah that and the unbelievably bad acting.

And yes...............interesting...........is one way of describing the stampede scene

I fell asleep watching it on the plane.

Gonzo, Hellpuppy and I were at a restaurant in Vegas in Jan and Adrian Brody was there. First off, they thought the nicely dressed black man was Adrian Brody until I pointed out that the guy in the sweatsuit was the REAL Adrian Brody. Then they both said "Oh yeah, the guy who ruined King Kong" ;)

The 70's remake with Jessica Lang and Jeff Bridges was so much better a script, acting, and over all movie! Of course didn't have the special effects available today but was a WAY sexier and more scary than this recent piece of shit IMO
