          Dre, the song was actually is a cover song, originally redone to be used in an episode of CSI (season 5, I think).

                                                  Great...just another way mainstream is going to kill a once great song by having tons of stupid kids who would have otherwise known nothing more then what MTV feeds them. Why couldn't they use a typical gay ass rap song, britney spears, or some other type of talentless music. Leave the good stuff alone.

                                                                      that songs been around a long time like you guys said it was originally done by tears for fears but the cover was done for the movie donnie darko and sung by Gary Jules, Michael Andrews composed the more upbeat piano version of the song used in the movie, the tears for fears version is a lot slower and toned down.
