if you prove you are an affiliate it's free. you just have to decide if you want to jump through the hoops.
i personally keep my affiliate affairs very secret, and don't care to participate in the verification process.

Makes sense really when you think about it keeps the number of affiliate managers and programs down but brings in huge amounts, comparatively speaking, of potential affiliates. Which is(I think) what porn conventions were originally supposed to do.

Mainstream is starting to figure it out....

Is it really all that much of a secret? The programs you send traffic to know where the traffic comes from.
