We hiked with our G36s across country during training. Climbed several mountains with it.
They were not worth jack shit after that. The problem is the optics. They get deadjusted extremely easily. Smack it against a wall and you won't hit shit.
And without optics (you can knock the optics off in emergency situations), the G36 is not worth anything, either.
