I'm scared since I heard on the news yesterday of bad side effects in Canada. I also heard news of bad side effects in America. One woman had a side effect where she developed a speech inpediment, and also she couldn't walk well anymore. All her muscles were jerking around.

the latter was not caused by the swine flu vaccine but just the regular flu shot.
i doubt i will get it (depends if things get worse or not). my mom plans to get it as she is a teacher and says so many students are out sick lately.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..
No vaccine for me. The first year they came out with flu shots it was "strongly suggested" by my former workplace to get them. I got the shot, became extremely ill and was off work for a week and a half.
No I'm not getting it. I'm still young and healthy enough that if I do get it I should be able to fight it off with over the counter stuff and some hot totties.
Saw my doctor for my routine 1 year exam yesterday, asked her about the vaccin... She said do what you want but I prefer taking vitamins and omega 3's.
I was not planning on getting it but earing that from her confirmed it for me.
No final decision on what I will do but I do have a problem with the organizations that are attempting to make it a requirement for employment, especially if it was not identified as a hiring requirement in the first place.
Educate your employees and sell them on why you recommend it but just a carte blanche requirement, nope, nope, nope that is one of the reason I am no longer in the military.

I'm not going to get it... I've seen on H1N1 because I'm dealing with all 3 of my kids having it so chances are I'll have it before the vaccine is even available to the general public here... and from what I have seen with my kids which don't seem to have it to severe and I've seen alot worst cases of the flu then this... is it true that the company Gilead which is the only company to make this vaccine have George W Bush and Donald Rumsfelt as shareholders... just a rumour I heard not sure if it's true or not!
I heard that in Canada it is produced by GlaxoSmithKline, not sure about Gilead.
We are planning on getting it. I have not had a flu shot since I was a kid, but with 2 kids now in school, one of which gets sick regularly and has to see a doctor at least twice a winter, we do not want to risk him getting worse.
Plus, my uncle who works for the CDC reccomended it. Now, realize, he reccomended it BASED ON OUR SITUATION, NOT BECAUSE HE THINKS EVERYONE SHOULD GET IT. He feels it depends on each individuals case...he is also the smartest guy in our family...
I think the extreme cases of both flu shot side effects and death from getting the flu itself are both pretty rare. So based on that I'd rather get the shot and not have to deal with actually getting the flu. So yes, I will be getting it.
I am not Canadian but I visited my Asthma specialist yesterday who told me not to bother getting the vaccine as it has been hyped up by the governments and 20 times more people contract normal flu each season and die from the normal flu than swine flu, I think I would rather take his word for it than listen to governments and pharmaceutical companies who are making billions from the vaccines.

Honestly man I am not sure if I could trust that doctor after she said that. Not being a smart ass or anything but taking vitamins and omega 3's (fish oils) has nothing to do with preventing a virus. It is either your immune system beats the virus when you come into contact with it or it does not and you die. The sick part is just the battle.
Very damn few get the virus and just carry it. Very damn rare.
I am not even pro vaccine for everyone. That sort of comment though really concerns me when I hear it from anyone - let alone a supposedly medical professional.

its available in california, free of charge at many many clinics
CDC has not released it to private doctors, but its available at these clinics
I myself, will not get this vaccine
they've hardly tested the thing, i wouldn't chance the unknown
Not available everywhere in CA yet. I can not get it yet. Hell we are barely getting any of the regular flu shots available yet.
I don't know about anywhere else but here in Winnipeg they needled over 4000 people in what, about 7 hours. Sounds like maybe a 9 minute wait, not 9 months.
I've had 5 operations in my life, never had to wait 2 months let alone 2 years for anything.
As for the vaccine I'm still kind of undecided. Might go get it, might not. We'll see.
not planning on it, but if suddenly i hear of multiple deaths daily as a result of H1N1, i'll look into it.
Right now my risk of getting the swine is very low. I did, however, see a video of a young lady completely RUINED indefinitely as a result of taking a vaccine like this one (not sure if it was actually this very one).
not in canada but i've gotten it...i am alive so are the other people i know that have gotten it...i did feel bad the next day, out of about 50 people i know that got it about half felt bad the next day but nothing major...
Nope, I believe the vaccine is some conspiracy to thin out the population. You maybe won't see the effects right away, but you will in a few years when your organs begin to shut down.
I'm young, strong and healthy. I'll take my chances with swine flu.
