There are islands 1000x better than Bonaire or Curacao! those are wastelands..

Martinique is an island nearby and is awesome!! i lived there for a few years.. there is also Guadeloupe and a few others to check out..

Margarita Island (part of Venezuela) has really nice beaches and very few tourists.

I spent about a month there a few years ago. The cost of living is low, the people are friendly and political problems in Venezuela usually don't affect the island.
