is niche pronounced "Nitch" or "Neesh"?

I guess all you ignoramuses would

call quiche - quitch

1: it's french.
2: it has an e on the end which softens the ch.

The friggin American dictionaries are just trying to justify butchering yet another word by telling you it's ok to say it nitch. If it was nich then yes, then you'd be right. But you're not, get over it. All you do is prove you're just another stupid ignorant american when you pronounce it nitch. It does you no favours.

I am one of *they* but I never got saying 'We will use the word from another language but screw pronouncing it correctly' thing. If you are going to say it differently than make up your own word.

I did mean they as in those that pronounce it nitch, and argue that it's not french anymore ;)

I also accept that those saying nitch may not be ignorant and stupid. But first impessions count. And anyone that says nitch to me will automatically give the impression of being ignorant and/or uneducated.
