Basic economics 101... people do not pay for what they can get for free, especially when times are tough.
Coca Cola's bottled water used to sell okay, but now that times are tough people are going back to tap, so the water division of Coca Cola is now tanking.
Can't afford the porn you really want - then you will get by okay with the porn offered for free via the tubes (and torrents, password forums, file share sites, etc.).

I mention that October sales are slow and that free porn is not helping the equation (which is hard to deny) and somehow I'm the target for some of the anger out there?
I continue to work on my stuff. I am updating. I am working on new tours. I have over 2 dozen blogs, and a handful of free sites. I have a few unique marketing angles I am working on. My sites are pretty good with regard to SEO, and include HUNDREDS of exclusive videos. I have at least 3 new sites in the works, and I am still shooting!
I don't understand why anyone in this biz is pissed off at me about the current state of affairs. I am not running any bullshit tube sites or pirate sites of any sort, nor am I stealing anyone's shit or illegally x-selling.
I have the right to bitch about shit all I want to vent. If you can see what I am doing wrong, or know how you can help me, then by all means, hit me up!
Some of you act like I am intentionally trying not to make money so I can bitch about it. That is not true, and if you want to help out, rather than just say I should change, then give out your amazing advice instead of complaining about my complaints.
If you think that tubes and piracy are a problem, as do I, then why are you so upset when I point this out... unless of course, you are part of the problem.
If you are the porn gurus you seem to imply, then let me know what mutually beneficial strategies I can incorporate.

Free porn isn't going away, piracy isn't going away. It sucks, but it's true.
Think about it, if it isn't going to go away, why care? It sucks, yes.. but, you can't do anything about it.
Then it makes no difference if you think free porn hurts you or not... if you can't stop or control something, if you can't work with it and benefit from it. Then you're probably best off, just moving on and ignoring it.
Some free advice with your program... interact with your surfers and socialize with your members, not just emails. Let them hear from you, your models and staff. I agree with a lot of your comments in regards to "Who would buy when they can get it for free" as well as "times are changing and your marketing needs to change with it."
I agree tubes are killing a part of the industry. I used to deal with hundreds of sponsors and over the last couple years I have seen some of my old favourites fall into the trap of easy traffic from tubes and that has destroyed my sales with them. Now I research each one of my sponsors and if I find their content on tubes I pull their plug. Not a personal vendetta just a marketing decision. I'm not going to try and sell something that is being given away next door for free.Rod Macdonald
