    Traffic quaestion.....

when buying traffic, is it smart to set the houlry max, and if so what is a good amount to receive in an hour??

Or should i just take it all as fast as they can give it to me??

hmmm. Good question. I would 'think' that it's better to set an hourly max because of your trade partners, it would give an even interval for their script to match your traffic. But I'm not too much of an expert on this topic. BUMP!

Do NOT let them just give you everything they can (and don't set a really high hourly max) unless you're sure your server can take it.

I bought some traffic from Trafficholder and set a pretty high hourly max and it wound up being too much to handle and shut my site down.

It was entirely my fault - some poorly structured SQL statements, and just generally resource-heavy programming which has thankfully been fixed (along with new content-caching), but it could have been a huge waste of money.

Thankfully the guys at Traffholder were really cool and gave me partial credit for the downtime. I've since purchased more traffic from them - and will continue to do so.

I say for your first time around, set a moderate limit and pay close attention to your resources.

Traffiholder are under no obligation to refund you if their traffic brings your server to its knees. They gave me the credit out of the goodness out of their hearts, so you might not be as lucky as me. lol.

I did exactly the same thing. It didn't knock the server down, but I was seriously concerned.

If you have premium traffic delivery enabled, be damn sure your server can handle the delivery.

            Traffic Holder rocks.
