I 've been there on Holiday exept for Laos. I just looked at my mail and check some websites. Internet is available in these countries. Wifi is free and available in almost all hotels in Vietnam (even in the very good 15 dollar hotels). I think you have to find out about Laos, that is a censored country.
Thailand, no problem but don't show it in public. When you sit in an internet cafe with porn all on the screen they will be angry. The same for Cambodia and Vietnam. Checking your websites isn't a problem, but don't live there and take a seat where people don't see your monitor (or take a laptop with wifi). In Cambodia you have to look for fast internet. But when i was there, there only were 2 ATM's in the country, nowadays they have more.
