A Gallardo is considered a daily driver. Insurance is no more than $3k a year and you can get a 2004-2005 model for around $130k

Of course this is all mute if you're some 18 year old.

      you're a complete idiot
It's moot not mute. One should be careful what they say when calling someone else a "complete idiot".

Could you buy a Gallardo making $150k a year? Sure, why not, the payments would add up to less than that. You just couldn't afford to buy much else. Being able to do something doesn't make it a good decision.

Having a Gallardo as your only car would be a very bad idea. I know as I (as well as Minte, who I'm sure would agree) own one. Is it meant to be driven more often and more practically than your typical exotic? Absolutely. Does that mean it makes a good car to own with nothing else to drive? Absolutely not.

Your insurance numbers are in the right range and it is a popular misconception that an exotic will cost 5 figures a year to insure for the average driver. However, being able to buy something and AFFORDING something are two totally different things. Buying a Lamborghini at an income of $150k per year is a very bad idea.

The Gallardo is a supercar that was built for daily driving and if you are not driving it at least once every second day you are ruining it. Ask any professional mechanic. Cars like this need to be driven regularly in order to keep their parts in working order.
Bullshit. Drive it in the snow and tell me how it works out. Daily driver in California or the south maybe. Not everwhere though.

I'd also like to add, that if you can't afford to buy it, you shouldn't have it. It's not like a house. You don't get 30 years. If you can't buy it in 5-6, you shouldn't even consider it.

Leasing is another story, but if you're leasing because you can't afford to buy, you shouldn't be leasing.

Odds are pretty good we won't see much more of timberlands in this thread.

                  Just lease.

And if you are single I would say you need to make around 60-80k a year if you want it to be afforable.
You need to make 80k a year just to get it tuned up!

Cars are so damn expensive here in Australia, a lambo can easily cost over $700,000 - and with car finance usually a maximum of 5 years you would find youself paying about $13,000 a month. So about $150,000 a year just for the car - of course with tax reaching 50% that means you need to earn $300,000 a year just pay off your fucking car. Basically you just dont get a Lambo unless you are happy to fork out the $700,000 up front - if you cant pay cash, you cant afford it.

you need to make 150k+ a year to even consider one.
Thats after taxes! The yearly tune up costs 9-15k alone!!! Yikes!
