Urgh. Ok. Here. Let's use some logic:
You can't get government issued photo IDs for cartoons.
Cartoons aren't real people.
Cartoons were never born.
There are no 2257 issues with drawn cartoons. There could, however, be obscenity issues, which has nothing at all to do with 2257.

Yes and some people claim that they've been abducted by aliens and had anal probes from them. All sorts of people say all sorts of things, doesn't make them true.
2257 is about providing a notice on your site letting the feds know where you keep your records, and having model IDs and relevant info on them on file for inspection.
Since these are not people, they have no IDs, legal names, date of birth, or other relevant info for the feds TO inspect.
Obscenity laws apply, 2257 laws do not.

If you have photo realistic toons and want to set a good example (although it's not required by law), you can put some sort of statement that says hey, all of these images are 100% computer generated and are in no way derived from imagery of actual human beings.
And as I said before, having drawings of what appear to be minors (among other types of imagery) can't get you in trouble under 2257 laws, but can put you in hot water under obscenity laws.
Not saying that you'd have anything to do with such imagery, just a general FYI.

my current project is a hentai blog, so i've been doing some looking around at content, and found some pretty twisted shit. there really are no boundaries when it comes to animation. i find that alot and i mean ALOT of the galleries i was looking through featured animations of girls which appeared quite young. maybe its just the style of animation. i think its more a question of what you're morally (haha, morals in porn) willing to sell on your site. i personally won't be promoting anything which even comes close to giving the appearance of underage girls. even if it is animated...
