According to Gokor this took place on the set of "Out for Justice" where Segal was using a Brooklin accent and did a stick fight w/Dan Inasanto-who also tels thsi story. Well Segal was being a dick to the stuntmen, but that is his normal behavior according to them. Well he is talking about how bad he is and the stuntment say "Yeah, well we got this old guy back here who could choke you out!" and Segal stated that nobody coulod get close to him to choke him out he also had never heard of Judo Gene LeBell before that encounter. Well Gene came over and said that he could choke him out and and Segal said that he couldn't so Gene grabbed him real quick and started to choke him. Segal tapped and said that that wasn't fair he was talking and wasn't ready for Gene. So Uncle Gene waited for Sega to get "ready" and when he said that he was Gene grabbed him and started to choke him out and Segal coudln't do nothing w/the old guy. Well Gene was pissed off because Segal was being very rough for no reason on the stunt guys when doing the fight scenes w/them and was upset becuase Segal said he wasn't ready and woul;dn't admit that Gene hooked him so as Uncle Gene would oput it "there is 2 ways to choke a person out, one way the ygo out nice and wake up ok, the other is they go out quick and they piss and crap on themselves" Gene did the latter! Then he drug Segal over to a closet and put hi in there uncouncious. When he came to everybody was cracking up and he went and changed his clothes and fired Gene and his guys. Gene has not worked on another Segal Movie since.
Also, When the Gracie's challenged Gene he stated that he would fight Helio and Helio stated that he would fight Gene, but Gene would have to lose 50lbs becuase he outweighed him by 100lbs and Helio was 80 at that time. Gene said he made the challenge back to them so they could see what it was like and it was dropped. Gene trains with the Gracie's cousins the Machado Brothers a couple of times a week. Gene mainley trains w/Jean Jacque Machado.

Actually Bernie, I learned how to do that to people back when I used to bounce.
Once you get them in the rear naked, and they are about to pass out, you bend them foward so that their trunk is over their toes. It causes them to piss and shit themselves.
I've done it to someone with a full nelson, never got the chance too with a choke.

These pressure point, no touch, Kung Fu, ninja type instructors are basically cult leaders. The students believe them because they so badly WANT to believe them, and they basically get hypnotized. When they go down because of the 'chi force' they really do feel that shit and think they're being knocked on their ass. Try it against someone who isn't mentally conditioned to believe it's going to work, and it won't work. This is why it's absolutely crucial that you train in something that can be tested against a fully-resisting opponent. Otherwise you're just hypothesizing, and most of the time coming up with the wrong answers.

for the first time probably, i fully agree with Dig420. i never gave much thought to the idea of it being like a cult, but thats a pretty good way to look at most martial arts schools in the USA.
my feeling is always the same... if you are truly training to fight... then you should have ZERO problem with stepping up to the plate and fighting, anywhere, anytime, against any opponent. afterall... thats what you are training to do.
if you can't do that... then all you are getting is exercise. if thats the case... then call it what is... exercise.

Clearly the younger guy was in much better shape and in my opinion, regardless of what the old man said about the 5k, he shouldnt have been in the same ring with that younger guy. Seriously, as sedentary as i am i think i could have lit that old man up.
mma is no match for other disciplines.. because it was created to combat all types of disciplines. Even bjj is kinda going by the way side. It's a must in your arsenal, but a pure bjj fighter usually gets rocked by an mma fighter, ergo, matt hughes and royce gracie.
I could be wrong ant, as I am just a fan and someone who has a better jaw than a right hook
