Shaving, skimming, scrubbing ... it's not just in the adult industry, just about every affiliate network/program does it.

Amazon does it. If your referred customer returns to them later you get nothing in commission. Most affiliates work this way too. I may refer a customer but if they don't join during that visit and return later on their own I will miss out on the referral fee.
