I felt sorry for a stripper tonight.
A friend of mine got offered a great job that is going to require him to move to another state. He took it and is moving next week. So tonight myself and several of his other friends took him out. We went to dinner then hit a few strip clubs. We decide to stop at this one last club on the way home just for one last drink.
We get in and the girl that is dancing is ok, but not great. After the song is over she leaves the stage. The next girl up just shouldn't be stripping. She is about 5'5" tall and about 220 lbs with some nasty snaggleteeth and (not lying here) a couple of what looked like open sores on her face. We sit at the outer tables away from the stage, because we don't want to tip her, we want to drink. The guys sitting around the stage take one look at her and all but 2 of them leave the stage and move out to the outer tables. The music starts and she starts to dance. We are ignoring her as is everyone else. Nobody is tipping. The second dance goes and she is still dancing and being ignored so she doesn't take anything off. After the second song another dancer gets pissed and comes up on the stage and yells at all of us, "The more you tip, the more clothes come off!" Some guy yells back, "That's what we are trying to avoid!"
It was funny, but I could tell it hurt the girl's feelings. She did one more dance, no tips, then left. Obviously she must need a job and need the money or she wouldn't be here trying to strip, but I am a firm believer that people should take inventory of themselves and know what they are good at and what they shouldn't be doing.
We finish our drinks and get back in our cars. As we drive my buddy that is leaving says, "I wonder what made her think she could be a stripper?" Another friend answered back in his best Dave Chappelle/Rick James voice ,"Methamphetamine is a hell of a drug."
