pretty sure this is just spin from TPB for spotlight attention to potentially attract a new buyer. they've been out of the spotlight for a few.
everything else is still indexed, including all the serps for 1000's of torrents of porn movies.
i bet that google didn't even do it by hand, i bet the crawler didn't like something on the homepage and just dropped it from the index. that press is bogus. thats my opinion anyhow.

You can note that the main root is not included in that listing. So according to the article it is happening, but just removing the root does shit for the thousands of serps they ranks individual pages on.

yeah they removed like 7-8 pages including the .org root.
just like when perfect 10 get tons of sites root pages removed due to a largely bs copyright complaint.
Aye, those pages are still removed to this day also.

When the damn thing will die already? They've got several court rulings against them including sentences, and yet it's up and running just fine. 7 pages that are rumored to be removed from google index, ridiculous.
Hi Guys, We have had our Attorneys contact Google so this can be investigated thoroughly. I have posted a link to a pdf file that explains our side, Please dont ask me any question related to this matter as it is being fully investigated by both parties and I personally can not comment.
So all you content owners now know what to do, stop complaining and ACT
This solution has been around along time. Since Perfect10 and their chilling effects some years ago. However, most people in this industry just complain on the GFY instead of doing anything about it.
This includes...
-Routinely sending DMCA's. Weekly/Monthly.
-Sending complaints to Google to have people removed from index.
-DMCA's registrars, processing companies, web hosts, and the rest.
If copyright holders did more, complained less, then you would see some results. Instead, most just complain, or rattle the sabre. Little more.
Oh that's right. Some left GFY for 2 days. My bad.

"Google received a (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) take-down request that erroneously listed Thepiratebay.org, and as a result, this URL was accidentally removed from the Google search index," Google said in a statement. "We are now correcting the removal, and you can expect to see Thepiratebay.org back in Google search results this afternoon."
Holy shit! Google FINALLY did it!
Most of the damage is done already, of course. People know where to go for torrents.
But at least newbies will find it a tad more difficult to get their illegal downloads.
All those illegal torrent sites should be removed from the search engine indexes. It is really sickening to go through the first page results for certain keywords.

Have any of you ever seen a site named YouTube?
Anyone ever looked at Google Books where they scan and publish entire books online without paying the authors a penny?
Google is not going to do a thing about content theft. They are the biggest content thieves on the planet. They index pics and vids and books and pay zero for the content so they can sell adwords advertising to an audience they entertain with everyone elses content.
How do people not see that? Why would Google destroy it's own business model?
