    Post Bot For Sale $400

    Does anyone know the user_agent this bot uses by any chance so i can blacklist it from my servers?

    This seems to be one of the more popular post bots out there at the present time which is allowing douchebags to flood various industry message boards with pure crap (kinda like GFY but in a non-controlled way).

      Any bot worth its salt is going to be spoofing a typical IE user agent. Surely there's another way to stop them. Captcha on signup maybe?

              Well ive checked through my logs during the time frame when these bot users were signing up and i havent managed to find them, that being said, i have managed to eliminate them from posting

                  1 minute between post and human verification on posts.

                  Bot issue goes away (or at least, someone has to keep entering human verification words)

                                                      Lee, you can identify the bot yourself... Just look at your access log and you'll definitely spot it, even though it probably presents itself as firefox UA or IE.

                                                                  Unless someone is going to type human verifcation codes (oh yeah, don't use the same type every time... don't let it learn), then you aren't going to get mega posts UNLESS they are directly accessing the posting code of the board... in which case, get better board software.
