Do your inlaws hate you because you're in porn?

Mine do.

According to a couple of my inlaws, one VERY "Holier than thou" person, I / We / "The industry" are involved in ALL ALL ALL of the following:

- Taking advantage of women
- Drugging girls to do porn
- Break up marriages
- Contribute to the popularity of street drugs
- Responsible for EVERY break up.
- Make men cheat on their wives
- Responsible for CP
- Responsible for the abuse of children from priests
- and on, and on and on...

You should have heard this woman. I just let her rant on and on. I wish I had recorded her and put her up on Youtube or something like that. "INTERNET PORN CAUSES THE CLERGY TO ABUSE CHILDREN!".

What was even worse is that her husband wasn't sayng or doing a damn thing to stop her. I know he doesn't agree with anything she was saying but he's just too much of a wuss to stand up to her.

I am emailing her a picture of tub girl.

Anyone have any ideas on how to handle this?

Sounds like she is a devout catholic defending her faith which has been severely damaged. That would make her then blame God which she can't do because then he would not be omnipotent. So she blames it on pornographers, because heck, everyone hates a pornographer.

My second marriage ended over it... my in-laws only referred to me as "scumbag"... The funny fucking thing about it is that they were broke ass motherfuckers and they had an $800/month weed habit. I have never seen anyone smoke that much weed. My mother-in-law worked as a supervisor for Michigan Friend of the Court and was in charge of handling enforcement for child support...

Hi Mark I totally understand your feeling. In 1998 I was one of the first in Montreal producing live show on the internet (I said in Montreal for thoses who will come with their 1992 lol). And once a TV network came to my office do a report and it was broadcasted at the news of 17h and 22h ans she was watching that channel all time (TQS now V). So we were all at home and at 16h50 I announced her the whole thing.

After that everything changed and she come up with almost all the story your people told you and 6 month after I had to move out cause I couldnt handle it anymore. I stopped everything in 2005 I think, it's took her 2 year to believe that I stopped. Now I'm distributing sex toys and no way that I'll tell her that. I'm actually working on some site that will require me to produce some contents etc and now I dont know how I will handle this because if I tell her she gonna probably tell me that I lied to her 4 year ago. I guess I'll cros the bridge when I get there...

But the point is that if we are in this industry it's because we like it and there's no point to change for the others.

My family knows as even the pastors at my church - both aren't exactly happy with it, but they understand it's a means to support my kids and family. They also understand that I am NOT content itself or am with content but basically in administrative role.

They could give all the reasons Mark suggested but are wise enough to realize that porn will be there even if I wasn't but also that there are other things outside of porn that destroy family's such as alcohol - gambling - or for that case, the opposite sex since cheating on your spouse happens at the office or anywhere.

Porn is a tool - put in the wrong hands can be used negatively, but in the right hands can help and relieve tension to those who don't have other means.

Assuming that CP is acceptable to anyone is like saying creating alcohol in beer facilities supports drunk driving and wife beating or aircraft manufacturer's are guilty for 9-11

I have friends ask me all the time to "set the up with a website" like its some easy money. then i have others who take a step back and think I am such a horrible person for ever being involved.

its easier just to keep things quiet IMO, I tell most people that I do "online advertising" (outside of my SEM agency)

My family and big percentage of my Friends know what i m doing, i never felt the need of hiding, cuz i would love to stand behind the things i do,

actually i never got really very serious reaction until now and due to i m a persuasive person, My Explanation would end wit convincing to them.

My Basic Arguments are mostly:

1. is watching porn is ok but, Building site is wrong?

2. i proud the things i do,

3. i m a Webmaster and building websites only,

4. i m not involved with the content side etc.

if i need to extend the list, i m using the argument, there are models who work in this biz professionally etc, etc :thumbs up:
