The hidden popup that I made reference to early has just appeared on my system, (as it does every couple of hours)....the url is imbedded right into my registry....
Here it is:
http://0-ol1oiz-xolxii1-oxli10ozl1l1.../npa/pop.html?
When examined further, this url calls up (through the system registry) adtrak.com - which is also a Standard Internet owned domain....
which then redirects to another adpage.
And the advertisement it popped up this time is as follows:
http://www.textlinks.com/ads/npa/GoodCredit.jpg
A quick search of the whois shows that textlinks.com is also owned by Standard Internet.
So, to recap, the damage the original ALLClicks SI link has inflicted so far is as follows:
Download of JS/exploit virus (as determined by McAfee)
Alteration of System Registry
Hijacking of browser error page
And, I repeat, if you have been hit with a similar exploit, the appropriate complaint urls are listed at the start of this thread.
