Some people here are really short sighted. Everyone deserves health care. At the moment, it's too fucking expensive in the US. For all you fags saying it's not a problem, if you want it, work harder, you're seriously a dumb fuck (well, partially). People that have the lower class shitty jobs don't earn as much - but we should be grateful that people are willing to do those jobs. Otherwise the US would be a shit hole. Without people willing to do the lower paid jobs, how the fuck would America still be running? And because people are doing the shit job that you're not willing to do, but still needs to be done, you think they don't deserve healthcare? The prices are insane, I only pay 90 euros a month - like most people in The Netherlands. Health care here is pretty good, I'm proud to be living in a country that's not shortsighted and where health care is affordable for everyone and still good quality.

Give me one fucking good reason why this is bad and why you wouldn't it?

          I made thread about this.

          http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=928804

yes, seniors on medicare are voicing much of the opposition to any health care reform claiming they want theirs but do not want any funds to go to others who may need it LOL

as if the "medicare" money was theirs to begin with! its sickening to see old dying and sick people claiming that others dont have the *right* to the same type of system they are abusing since they cannot afford their own health care and look to socialist programs like medicare.

there is nothing more ironic than old people holding signs that say "end socialism in America" and yet they are on MEDICARE!

its why i made this image, its the most hypocritical things ive seen in politics ever!

It seems like everyone lives off creditcard money they don't have or can't pay back. Who the fuck is paying for all that? Seriously... America has been doing things all wrong. Everything is about status, what car you drive, how big your house is etc... It's disgusting.

Since I was like 14 I've wanted to move to a country where my tax money was actually put to use, and I benefitted from it at the same time. I am quite sick and tired of paying taxes on whatever I make, with bad teeth, a bad back, and migraines that would kill someone, and not being able to go to the doc to get fixed up the right way. No, they want me to keep coming back over and over and over again and to be honest I would rather pay the $10k to get married and have a nice wedding with and for my fiance like we want rather than pay these insanely high prices just to get a damn tooth looked at.

Fiance got sick last winter with something with her stomach real bad, they pumped her up with 2 bags of salt water, wasted 6 hrs of our time, and told her there was nothign wrong. Guess what the bill was. $2k.

Fuck this shitty health care we have in America. I wanna move to another country.

Its sad that were how many miles apart but think the exact same thing?

As far as material things goes, I like nice things yeah sure but it's not essential to my living. Right now I am in about the shittiest place and paying outrageous money for rent, but its a roof over my head whether I have to sit here and smell human shit 24/7 or not (septic tanks are bad, they fucking stink)

I was better off with my 1992 Olds that I had. We went and took a loan for a 2000 monte carlo and its blown 2 fuckin motors and The shop has had it more time than I have since I bought it, so yeah, I really dont care about nice things anymore, I want shit thats dependable.

ANd youre right, who pays for someone's debt when they file for bankruptcy here in america? Say I filed for bankruptcy on my Chase credit card. Well the interest Chase charges others will pay that. And so much of it happens that htey have to hike the shit out of the rates that opthers pay for interest.

Someone buy me plane tickets? Get me outta here?

I need 2 tickets LOL one for my fiance and I.

You already help fund welfare and all the other social services, but you don't get any of that money or the other shit that comes with it. If the US had free health care sure, your tax dollars would help the "lazy" as you stated, but at the same time YOU benefit also.

Your taxes would not go up by that much. Compared to what you pay for health insurance right now per year you would actually save money having a small tax increase and free health care. No matter what you do you are helping the "lazy freeloaders" as well as the greedy gov. pricks so why not at least benefit from it in some way?

In practice however these insurance companies only motivation is profit NOT health care. As a result they only insure those they know they can make a profit from ... those less likely to need medical care.

My son doesn't worry about insurance his mother and I PAY for that. But do you want to know something he does have to worry about? Crohn's disease which was very likely caused by a vaccine required by the government run schools. What do I teach him? That he doesn't get everything he wants and what he does want he has to PAY for in most cases. And he does. If he wants to go out with his friends on Friday or Saturday he WORKS to pay for it. If he wants a new game for his PS3 he WORKS to pay for it. If he can't pay for it he either goes without or he cons one of the grandparents into buying it for him.. He doesn't get exactly what he "wants" for Christmas. Like many kids this day and age his "wants" > expectations are generally much higher than they should be. So instead he has to pool his funds and buy what he "wants" afterwards. That's where another lesson is learned the act of shopping around so he gets more for his money. Do you see how that WORKS?

You obviously didn't ready what you quoted. Let me see if a second look at it might help you out.

"If they were just trying to make a simple health care policy which applies to everyone including Congress themselves across the board same price and that was it then I don't think anyone would argue. But that's not whats being done in any plan. Every one of them are hundreds if not thousands of pages chock full of bureaucratic and corporate favoritism bullshit."

So let me see if I can explain this to you again. My problem isn't about a new health care system in itself. My problem is it turning into a bureaucratic nightmare full of the very corporate giveaways you seem to think I support. Obama, your "health care cheerleader" has already inked deals to those companies securing their profits. That's the sort of thing I'm against.. All the while putting limits on what doctors an the alike can earn. Even going as far as saying that the doctors can't earn money outside the system without risk of losing their license.

So, in order to provide this "Canadian style" health care we would have to significantly raise taxes to pay for it. I think if we are raising taxes the money should be used to pay down the existing debt, not to make an excuse for a new one.

Once that is taken care of we can discuss new ways to spend.
I don't get why this graph helps your argument... Why would "Canadian style" health care require more in the way of taxes.. look at the Canadian tax rate.. maybe 3% more personal, about 4% less corporate. To me it looks like overall they pay slightly less tax.. And Australia, Ireland, NZ etc which have universal health are taxed less (and don't force companies to pay for their employee's insurance etc).

the numbers for germany in that graph can't be true, corparate tax is 30% max, maximum personal tax is like 42% but then you need to make 250,000 euro per year. for most people its around 30%

and i wouldn't say the health care system in Germany is perfect, but healthcare is mandatory, relatively affordable and no one gets rejected when he is in need.

they need to make socialized healthcare available to everyone. Those who choose to go private, they have that right, but knowing that the free govt. subsidized healthcare is available to them too.
