Watched this movie last night and all I can say is I was extremely impressed with it. I avoided reading any spoilers or reviews beforehand as to not have any pre-conceived notions about the film; but it was a lot different than I expected.
Without giving anything away, the movie starts off pretty slow, but give it time. By the end you will be physically and mentally exhausted.
Also, what you see in the film isn't all there just for "shock and awe" (like its critics try and scream); it fits and is done cinematically as perfectly and realistically as could be expected.
Excellent jobs by both actors as well, Willem Dafoe (to be expected) and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
