Symbols can only offend if people let them. Look at the Christian Cross for example. Most people don't find it that offensive (most don't) yet look how many crimes in history have been carried out while wielding it? Look at how many negroids were victimized by flaming christian crosses on their lawns? The only way a symbol can be used to offend is if you LET it offend you.

as for fucking up the recount? yeah it's hard to remember the words "hanging from a tree" were NEVER UTTERED.
