Ya, but it seems in Canada people can take those jokes with more of a grain of salt. We are a country with major multiculturalism, and I've seen just as many Canadian comedians make fun of East Indians, Native Indians, White people, Black people, and more. -
I dunno what to say about it. Black comedians make fun of whites, Mexicans make fun of everyone, but let a white comedian say "nigg er" and they instantly become the white Satan. Granted, Richards (who I hate with a passion) went a little far...but I would say it would be the same reaction if it was Drew Carey and he did it just as a joke.Comment

I do agree - that there is more freedom given to blacks - Indians or whatever when it comes to comedy, but I do not think that they honestly lash out in anger against someone. This was clearly a verbal 'hate' assault and had nothing to do with comedy. Kramer simply does not have the mind to create a fast, eloquent reply to a tough situation that is what makes comics great.
robin williams as an example would have made a black joke, but done it in such as way as not to offend or from being pissed off.

Sadly, we live in a world where one side of the tracks involves hand guns and gang wars while the other side involves sensitive little teary eyed ninnies who complain about how their little feels get hurt at anything that might be remotely close to benig not politically correct.

...and slavery had been going on in Africa when the whites got there...the slaves were sold to the whites by AFRICAN slave traders. Whenever there was a tribal war, slaves were taken and held. Later, when whites started showing up, the slave-holding tribes sold them some.
...and slavery is STILL going on in some areas of Africa today

People don't realize whites were afraid to go past the beach. Blacks caught and sold other blacks to the slave traders. Slaves were held waiting for slave ships. The tribal slaughter continues to this day in Africa. Instead of selling their enemies they now just smack 'em with machetes.

The reason it's not okay for white people to utter racial slurs in North America is because we are presently at the economic "top of the heap". From the top looking down, it ISN'T funny to make fun of the struggles and hardships non-white people have to face in this continent just trying to get ahead in today's world. But from the bottom looking up, it IS okay to poke a little fun. Besides, most of the white jokes are funny and somewhat true!
These jokes aren't really about race, they are about economic disparity.Comment
