    Miama pitbull policy

    I watch animal cops on animal planet a lot, is it true all pitbulls in miami are put down? Little extreme?

          Why exactly does someone want a pitbull over all the other breeds? Seriously, isn't the "badass" factor part of the decision making process ... Just like hunters choose retrievers or hounds. Police departments choose shepherds, etc ......

                                          i'm sure thats one of the major reasons people get them , like getting a harley or a leather jacket or a haircut.

                                          Big difference being you are much more likely to be killed by a harley , a guy with a leather jacket , or badass haircut than you are a pitbull

                                              I would think they would be open to a few lawsuits for that if it's true. Most pitbulls are not registered breed dogs, they are basically mutts without paperwork, thus impossible to verify they are indeed pitbulls.

                                                  All I can say is I love my pitt, I have a dog trainer who comes over and works with us and so far she has been one of the most well behaved dog so the vet has told me. You can make any dog mean and any dog can turn on you, at the end of the day they are ALL dogs and should be treated like dogs.

                                                      I think everyone understands that any person or animal can be made to be a horrifying monster.
                                                      What usually is meant though is that a pitbull, specifically a pitbull, was bred to be tough, to bite and not let go, to crunch bone. So when someone makes THAT particular animal into a mindless attack machine, it's worse than if they do it with a kitty, or dachsund.

                                                          at the heart of it they are terriers... people need to train their dog and actually do research on their pits.

                                                          you have to be careful with power breeds, but in the end.. if handled properly they are great dogs.
