    Valkyrie - MOVIE [RANT]

    yeah im a few years late and i wish i was 100 years later but listen up..... movies of fucking nazis speaking american and british english make me want to vomit.. i have to fucking do a uniform check every time a new person steps into the frame just in case there was some non-nazi's in the movie.... what a crock of shit.... also... the fucking idiot they chose to do the extras casting and the direction should be shot for allowing them to carry themselves like they do... they don't look strong, they have no confidence in them.. they look like minimum wage actor humpback drama club flunkies not the fucking SS for christ sake...

    give me some REAL GERMAN ACCENTS SPEAKING ENGLISH **IF YOU MUST** if not, make a good fucking movie and give me all subtitles before you cheapen to a steaming pile of shit like i just saw...

    fuck this movie... fuck tom cruise... and fuck any production team that has the foreign characters that happen to speak in american and british accents... FUCK YOU ASSHOLES!

    that's it i feel better now.. going to find me a movie with all subtitles to counter this load of shit i just watched.

                  In the period the film was set, Berlin was being defended almost 100% by reserves, as all combat divisions were busy being beaten at the eastern and western front. Regarding the SS, towards the end of the war, most SS ranks were filled with non German troops -- but rather volunteers from the Nazi occupied territories.

                          I thought it was a good film. I have grown to really dislike Cruise, but I think he did a good job with the main character.

                                  Not entirely correct I haven?t seen the movie but I know it is based on the ?20 July plot?. Anyway, Berlin was not defended by anyone at that time. Wehrmacht and SS were still fighting on Russian territory far away from Berlin.

                                          Both the Wehrmacht and the SS maintained garrisons in Berlin both before and throughout the war years for the exact reasons portrayed in the film.

                                          I thought it was a pretty good film btw. A little bit simplistic in parts but historically accurate for the most part.

                                                      I thought it was a really good movie. Really, accents in movies don't bother me, though I will say native accents make it more authentic (watch the movie Defiance, they do a pretty good job with at least attempting the accents).

                                                                          Yeah I hear ya...I'd much rather see a real German production of a story like this --- BUT, it doesn't bother me that much. They used the same transtioning device from foreign language to English, as done in Hunt for Red October and 13th Warrior.

                                                                          So while you hear them speaking English, at least you can imagine that they are really speaking German to each other. Two minutes after they faded into English, I was ready to sit back and enjoy the story, which is a part of history I knew nothing about. So if they;re going about it that way, it didn't matter if they spoke with American accents, British, whatever.


                                                                          If you want to see a good German production set in ww2, watch Downfall, about Hitler's last days.

                                                                                                          If you want to watch an interesting WWII movie watch "Conspiracy". No action, very dry, very boring. It's about the Wannsee Conference, where they basically danced around the issues of killing Jews in bulk without really saying it. After you watch it you sort of feel like you just got raped.
