Absolutely. Especially since it was Ramadan so alot of the women cover up even more during Ramadan. One of the most interesting things was one woman shopping but she was completely covered head to toe (even her face and eyes). The interesting thing was when she reached out to look at something i saw her hand. On her finger was one of the most insane diamond rings i've ever seen. It was really interesting. I guess because she was covered I wasn't expecting that. Apparently even those that always go out in public covered up wear high end designer clothes and jewelery underneath.
It is important that you be very respectful of their culture. I did alot of research before we went on the local traditions and the culture. I had already studied two Muslim courses in college so that helped out as well. I found it very interesting. Women visiting don't have to cover up completely but tank tops and dressing slutty or looking seductive is definitely not cool.Last edited by Shap; 11-17-2006, 07:13 PM.Comment

So is there any limit to how many people can share a room there? With 2 floors, I imagine you could round up a few people and just split it 5-6 ways and it would be dirt cheap.
$1400 is a tad steep for a hotel room and 2 floors is a bit much for 1-2 poeple heh.
Looks badass. It's on my list of places to go. I'll definately stay at that hotel though. Can I just check out a porsche/lambo/ferarri for a day from the hotel? Is it free?Comment

Funny though that there was a thing about Dubai on 20/20 tonight. It's amazing how much a "Dictator/Monarch" can get done when you have 100% control, billions upon billions of dollars and a vision. The guy has spent a billion on horses alone aparently. The sad thing is that all the people (brought in from other countries) building all that stuff are paid something like $1 an hour and live in terrible conditions. In fact, his horses live better then the workers...Comment

Absolutely my impression as well, I never been treated that friendly and it's 100% save. My girlfriend and I did walk around alot, got a little lost, far off the main streets, and were looking for a taxi. Suddenly a police car stopped and asked us if everything was ok. We said we would just be looking for a taxi, he pulled out his personal mobile phone and called one for us.
