    Jay, AFF is not doing the installs. They are buying traffic from other people who are doing the installs, You making it sound like " if it has been installed, then it's been installed" so AFF has stopped but it is still happening because it is has been installed. I know i probably just lost you, sorry, but I think everyone else follows me on this one.

    Cliff notes, they don't do installs. They can stop right now if they wanted to and never use zango for their sites again, and sue tomorrow to protect their urls from others using it.

        While it is perfectly legal for us to place ads with internet software providers like adware companies, specialized browser providers, and search engines that place our ads near our affiliates ads (for example this happens often with keyword buys on search engines) this notion of the adware ad “collisions” that has recently been raised does make us feel somewhat uncomfortable – in other words we find ourselves sympathetic with those who have not been happy with this bizarre result.

        So we decided to look further into the adware issue. While we are at least partially at the mercy of the programmatic techniques of the given adware companies we are already exploring and experimenting with technology solutions to try to figure out ways to reduce the number of “adware collisions”. Our primary method of tracking affiliate traffic is not by using cookies (as has been wrongly suggested on some board postings) but rather by coded URLs – this may have to change. Suffice it to say that for now we appreciate the comments that have been made on the boards to date by our affiliates (yes even the adverse ones) and we will attempt to address this unforeseen consequence of adware ad buys in the near future.                                             will76 may come off as a bit of a drama queen but sometimes you gotta shout to be heard.. ( obviously at some point its no longer ballsy and just annoying but hey thats just my opinion. )

Whether you like or dislike Will's methods for calling out something he feels is having a detrimental affect on the adult online industry, the bottom line is the message not the deliverer.

                                                                                        You raise an interesting point Smokey, at what point do others join in and follow Lars simply to offset the perceived competitive advantage he may have in using spyware to promote his programs. If enough programs jump on the bandwagon it could become an acceptable form of promotion. Certainly there are some standard promotion methods being used today, that back in 99 would have been considered risky and unethical.

Tomorrow, another affiliate will take his place and bid on the exact same keywords, except this time send the traffic to Clickcash. Then what can you do? Zango is the company everyone should be trying to shut down, not the affiliates and companies using them.

Things that make you go hum....

                                                                                                                                                                    another thing is that zango adds a line to the top of their pop that says the site you were looking for does not function basically. even though your shit is showing in the background - it's too late - impulsive surfers are not as caring as us webmasters with regards to the tracking integrity.
