Is religion incompatible with the adult industry?

I don't think religion has anything to do with this industry, sure there are idiots out there who think its wrong but they are the ones who just happen to be cheating on thier spouse and filing divorces. Thats probably the biggest problem with people and religion today, they want to pick and choose what THEY think is a sin and what isn't. People just don't get that a sin is a sin and having sex before marriage is just as big of a sin as killing somebody, sure one is worse than the other but unlike our legal system which has murder, capitol murder, manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter etc there is no grading scale for a sin.Comment

jesus tap dancing christ donny, how many people have been murdered because of religion? millions! how many people have been murdered because of porn? you say you brought nothing positive to these girls you shot but i disagree. first, you gave them money for food, clothes for their children, etc. also you provided a safe enviroment for women to be shot in. there are people in the biz who take advantage of these women but you didn't seem to be one of them. by you not being in the biz, it means these women will just go to someone else or be recruited by someone else. its not like you forced anyone to do anything. these lives could be negatively affected by you not being in the biz.I don't have a problem with pornographers. I just have a problem with ME producing porn, because what I did for a living definitely hurt other people. I recruited models and I cannot honestly say I am able to point to them and say anything I did affected their lives in a positive way. But I can definitely point to many who were negatively affected.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

I only read the first one, but I'm glad I did. I'm also glad that you're not, or don't appear to be, what has become my pre-conceived notion of christians. Those people are not only the reason I find organized entirely intolerable and hypocritical, but as I already posted, I have no doubt that they hurt the very institution they're trying to represent oh so well.Undoubtedly. I blog about that all the time. In fact, allow me to link to some of the blog entries I've written to Christians:
About Christianity and Homosexuals
Christians are "parrots"
Christians respond to other "Christians" who sin with love, yet tell non-Christians they're going to hell
Christians love to Bible thump, but their reasons have nothing to do with God
I write to a pastor about things that made me hate Christians, amongst other things
Yep, Christianity hurts people. A lot.
If I can find the time, I'll read the others.Comment

In response, allow me to simply copy and paste a response I wrote to my best friend when he questioned how I'd hurt girls:jesus tap dancing christ donny, how many people have been murdered because of religion? millions! how many people have been murdered because of porn? you say you brought nothing positive to these girls you shot but i disagree. first, you gave them money for food, clothes for their children, etc. also you provided a safe enviroment for women to be shot in. there are people in the biz who take advantage of these women but you didn't seem to be one of them. by you not being in the biz, it means these women will just go to someone else or be recruited by someone else. its not like you forced anyone to do anything. these lives could be negatively affected by you not being in the biz.
Ah, my friend, allow me to point out that you are thinking short term.
Many of these girls lives are forever changed. Their families will always think differently of them. Forever. When the girl is old and gray people will still be whispering behind her back about the time she was involved with porn as a younger woman.
Some models have lost careers over it. A certain redhead on my website being the latest (which happened just 2 months ago). What you may not realize is that many degreed people receive jobs with companies that require them to sign a morality clause. Personally appearing in pornographic productions violates that clause and results in a lost job.
One model we photographed had always dreamed of being a cop. She was in the police academy when called in to a supervisor's office and confronted with the work she'd done for me. They kicked her out. She can never ever ever be a cop because she posed for me.
The examples go on and on. If you don't think that's ruining lives the two of us need to talk a bit more because I'd be curious to know what it would take, in your mind, to ruin a life.
So you don't think what I've done has hurt anyone?Last edited by Donny; 11-16-2006, 01:26 PM.Comment

the point i was getting at is these girls made the choice to model, you didn't make the choice for them. you really think if you weren't around none of these girls would of posed for anyone else? or taken a job at a strip joint, etc? if you want to talk about jobs that will have people talking behind your back, cop is definitely one of them. every job has its own stigma. In response, allow me to simply copy and paste a response I wrote to my best friend when he questioned how I'd hurt girls:

No, they would not have posed. We are in a place where we're the only producers. We're not in LA where everyone thinks they're a photographer. Most of the girls I photographed would never have modeled had they not met me.the point i was getting at is these girls made the choice to model, you didn't make the choice for them. you really think if you weren't around none of these girls would of posed for anyone else? or taken a job at a strip joint, etc? if you want to talk about jobs that will have people talking behind your back, cop is definitely one of them. every job has its own stigma.
Yes, they made their own choices. But I also accept my part of the blame. I was pretty good at making the porn industry seem very exciting.Comment

This is certainly true, but I can't think of a job besides getting naked or having sex for money that would invoke feelings strong enough to cause such a large percentage of the population to entirely disassociate themself from someone...family included.Comment
-
which is largely reigions fault. also i must point out that while religion is not a job there are many religions/churches who basically forbid their member from associating with those who don't practice said religion. my aunt is in one of them. they basically believe anyone who doesn't practice their specific religious crap will go to hell.
oh and donny, you avoided one major part of my post. the numbers of people negatively effected by religion outweight the numbers of people negatively effected by porn by the millions.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

What ANGERS me about this statement is how true it is and yet, how both are commonly portrayed in the media. Television shows use sex and porn ALL the time to increase ratings, and who do they have on as a dissenting view on porn? Someone from organized religion! Telling US what we're doing is wrong, as if they're ACTUALLY leading the wholesome life they're preaching.*
*While I'm sure SOME people ARE leading the wholesome life they're preaching, I would pretty much stake my life on the fact that most aren't.Comment

Sorry for not replying to that part. There's no doubt the numbers harmed by religion outweigh those harmed by anything else. I always had a problem with that until something finally sank in:
Jesus and religion are two different things. Jesus hated religion too. You'll never see him condemning a "sinner" in the Bible, but you will see him jumping the Pharisees, which were the religious people of that time.
Someone who follows Jesus' teachings must remember to be accepting of everyone, regardless of what they do. That's a tough challenge. I'd love to live up to it, but as a human I'll never be able to do so.
But I can damn well try.Comment

i'll agree with that but its too bad that probably less than 1% of so called christians actually think that way.Sorry for not replying to that part. i'll also agree that family members don't want to see their loved ones naked online.
although family members don't want to see their loved ones working a shit job like mcdonalds when they're 25-30 either.
but still, whats so evil about a fucking machine? whats so evil about two consenting adults, regardless of societys view, fucking on film? if its about sex being a sacred thing, do you believe that people who have sex with others purely for sex are evil too?
do you really believe in the whole good vs evil? god vs satan? heaven vs hell? because i just can't grasp that as anything more as an us vs them type senario that is used to make people fear and easy to control. and even if they do exist in such a way, they are both needed for the other to exist. if you banish evil, you also banish good because if there is no evil, then what is good? also if you believe that religion is man made hype, how can you really believe what you read about jesus in the bible, which is written by men?you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

How can one believe anything written by men? If being written by man means something cannot be believed, what then are we to believe about anything at all? Everything that is published has been written by mankind.i'll agree with that but its too bad that probably less than 1% of so called christians actually think that way.

Rather than address all of your questions, let me tell you what I believe hell to be: the absence of God. A dark place. Not a burning fire. I think the thought of a raging inferno is a metaphor.Comment

Yes he does! I remember this one time when he got all jeebed by some folks selling oxen and sheep and doves inside of a temple. Jesus went and made himself a whip of cords and went CRAZY... beatin' the salesmen out of the temple, throwing over tables of gold.... Man, Jesus was a gangsta.Comment
