what resolution are you shooting for? Only thing you could possibly do is lower the bitrate and turn on maxmize quality render in the fly out tab on the adobe media encoder screen before encode.

No not yet ... Havent had time to look with the lauch of our new site and three more in th e pipeline

You know the resolution is where im stumped at. I honestly dont know what resolution surfers prefer ... any suggestions?

well do you want to offer HD or SD? For SD I would use 640x360 (1200k-1500k) and for HD I would use 960x540 (3Mpbs)

I will be using HD

This reduction should drop my file size I was exporting at 1080

file size is dependent on the bit rate used rather than the resolution. If you use the same bitrate (example 1Mpbs) for a SD and HD. the SD version will look cleaner than the HD because the HD version is starved for bitrate. The key is to find a decent bitrate that provides acceptable quality and the lower your resolution, the more the the same bitrate should improve your overall image quality.

ah ha ... I got ya now

But where dod I change the bitrate? I set it to 30/fps and the bitrate says 10/ mbs on the export

I need to get this down to 5 I assume to see a significant reduction in file size

Preset Custom

Under the video tab I have

NTSC selected

Frame Width 960
Frame Height 540
Frame rate 30
Field order : None
Aspect Ratio 16:9

Look my point here is you are trying to build a house without knowing how to read a ruler. First you learn THEN you build the house. If you want to give your members the quality you claim then invest the time to learn to do it right beforehand or hire someone who can.
