18 is plenty...probably too much. I actually joined the Marine Corps (signed the papers) at 16, went to bootcamp at 17 (after my parents signed the consent papers and I graduated high school) and had a gun, badge, handcuffs and a patrol car when I was 18. Besides being a police officer representing the USA in a foreign country at that age, I was also supposed to be ready at any time to fight for the country in a war.

In Okinawa, I could drink. Hell, we had beer vending machines in the barracks. One year later, I'm 19 and rotate to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and all of a sudden, I can't drink again, can't get into some clubs and somehow I'm less of an adult because I'm back in the overly letigious US of "I'll fucking sue you" A.

What I think is, raise the driving age to 18, lower the drinking age to 18 and make weed legal. Everybody gets lower car insurance, the increased tax income from alcohol and weed pay for national health care and restore social security and everybody wins.

Until that happens, I'll fight with every ounce in me to keep the goddamned government away from our business in every way, including this one. Fucking mother*&*w2...don't even get me started....

Nope, it shouldn't be lowered. Like everybody said if they are old enough to drive, get married and vote, they should be allowed to decide if they want to stand in front of a camera.

This is very true. But generally a 21 year old is going to be SOMEWHAT more mature than an 18 year old. Certainly that isn't always the case.

I'd be all for raising the age to 21 for pretty much one reason only...the models themselves. It would give them that extra 3 years of life experience to be somewhat more certain that they understand the repurcussions of their actions.

"I don't want my dad to know I'm doing this," a potential model will say. (How many times have we heard that as an industry proving that the models don't even understand the technology that IS the internet.)

WE ALL know that's bullshit, but if the model's requesting that, she doesn't. Sure, you CAN keep them out to a point, but if ANYONE that knows the family stumbles across them on a tgp or something, they're GONNA see those picture and eventually daddy will see them.

20 years ago a woman could pose in Playboy or any other adult magazine and go on living a normal life. Once the new issue was out, the other one got tossed in the garbage, or out in the garage, never to be seen again. Nowadays, with the internet, these women (and men) will be naked online FOREVER. I'm not sure how many 18 year olds can fathom that.

Regardless of the legal age of performers, the people that don't like porn will try to find underage models, so upping the age is never going to change anything on that front.

As for removing those images of women under 21 after they've upped the age? I imagine they could throw in a grandfather clause, just like they've done when they raised the drinking age in places.

For me it should be 18-25, I'm so sure girls between this limit is much more hot, rather than younger or older.

The only way it goes to 21 for getting naked is if they raise the rules for everyone to 21 from 18... no military service until 21... no drivers license... no voting... no contracts or home ownership... live with your parents until you are 21.

They need to federally mandate the age, I'm tired of it being one age to do one thing in one state, another age in another... so if you go one state over you may be breaking the law but in your own your not. It's fucking retarded.

Noooooo! For one it would mean that nearly all the content on my sites would then become illegal as I only have a few girls who are 21 and over as my sites are teen niche.

Also how would you police the millions of site ran from outside the US to ensure all the models are over 18 as you would need all governements worldwide to change their law to over 21's.
Would probably mean an increase in your taxes as the governments would need to employ 1000s of more people to check every website, magazine, DVD and video to ensure they used 21+ models.

On another topic Holland raised the age for hardcore for 16 to 18 in 2002. Poland, Australia, Denmark still allow 16 year old to do porn though. And several other european countries allow under 18s to do artisitic nudity. You can model nude at 14 in Germany as long as its not porn.
