It's because the video is shot at the State Capitol building in Austin, which just happens to be one of the most liberal cities in this country. Had they done this somewhere else I'm sure they would have had 100's of nut jobs there cheering them on.
Austin is the most ironic thing about Texas.. The state capitol is in the middle of one of the most liberal cities in the country which resides in the middle of one of the most conservative states in this country. Also, for the record, I am by no means saying that I am happy with our system right now. Not even close. However, I am true to the constitution and I believe in fighting for it rather than separating from it, and that will never change, no matter how fucked up our government gets. I also believe anyone that wants to separate from it is perfectly welcome to leave. Hell, I've considered moving out of the country myself at one point or another. Why do you need to secede in the first place? Clearly there must be another country out there that is exactly what you're looking for. If not, then you understand that this is still the best nation on earth still and that as fucked up as our system is, Democracy at least gives you the freedom to change it from within. Do any of you actually read the constitution?, yes the States can secede from the federal government if they so chose. Would it by a wise move no, but for the past 80 years, the States have given most of their powers to the federal government.
The power of our original government was from the states. The federal governments powers were limited and should be limited. This is what James Madison wanted a limited government, who would not be involved in anything not listed in the bill of rights.
These people go about this all wrong, most of them are on some government assitance anyway. So unless they gave up their SSI,Medicare and all of the other unconstitutional crap the federal goverment has given them, it's hypocrisy.Comment
