I personally have both and i find myself firing up my xbox 5 to 1 compared to the PS3. I love my ps3 but the online community of the xbox is what i love the best

I hesitated to buy it for the first 1.5-2 years waiting for better games and the price to come down but then finally gave in and bought it few months ago; it's easily the best system on the market.

Even though I can buy games for Xbox for 5$ each (or just burn them myself heh), I'm a very happy PS3 fan. Wii was fun for awhile (also cuz all games for it here are 4-5$) but got boring fairly quick and PS3 already has similar motion controlled games like High Velocity Bowling, which is damn accurate!

PS3 Pros:
- Blue-Ray player
- Much more powerful hardware (and no failure issues like Xbox frequently has had by many users)
- 09/10 has a lot of very high-quality looking Exclusive titles coming out
- I like the controllers better (personal preference and the fact they use no batteries is sweet)
- Running Linux on PS3 is a lot better experience than Linux on Xbox.
- PSN is completely free; Xbox Live charges
- PS3/PSP interaction (remote play, etc...)
- Media streaming and internet connection is pretty flawless on PS3 - not so on Xbox (or Wii for that matter - I live in CR where internet is shitty, so makes a big difference)

Xbox 360 Pros:
- Can play cheap copied games
- Has more people online in Xbox Live community
- Has wider game selection (though I don't know of very many exclusive Xbox games that are very good...most suck or are repetitive FPS versions of each other)

360 is a way better gaming system...I have all three by the way

I own an Xbox 360 and my brother owns both a 360 and a ps3.. I prefer the 360 over the ps3. Not to say that the ps3 is no good, but it's all a matter of personal taste.

BATMAN is the best game of the year for either console.

Not to mention the PS3 has a "play as the Joker" Add-On for download which I think is a PS3 exclusive

PS3 has it's advantages over Xbox with some of the exclusives but Xbox has some of their own.

PS3 has Infamous, Dead Space
Xbox has Gears of War

You really do need both consoles if you want the best of everything

I love the Playstation and all but the Xbox seems to be a little better all around, except for image quality. PS3 needs a new Final Fantasy then I may change my opinion.

I had a 360 but it kept breaking so I picked up a PS3. I still like the 360 much better in general. I'd go with the Hi Def 360.

games? Um pretty much most games come out on both system for every exclusive XBOX has PS3 has one too. Which exclusives are better is a matter of OPINION

Online? is XBL better? not really. I don't see what the big deal is about it. Have YOU been on PSN to actually compare? Or do you just go by what you hear form other XBOX fanbois. Even if XBL was better it's not by much and if you think about over a 6 year period you're likely to own a 360 that's $300 for online. Is XBL $300 better than PSN? And that answer is certianly no. For $300 you could get another XBOX or PS3. Let's not forget that's $300 IF you ned only one account. If you're a family and you need 3 or 4 XBL accounts that's $900-$1200 extra. Sorry when I play Madden online it's not any better on XBL than PSN and it's hardly worth a extra $50 I am forced to pay to play Madden online.

overall system, xbox is better? Ok let's break down "overall"

XBOX 360 120 GB HDD, plays DVDs( does not upscale them though ), wi-fi extra, rechargeable batteries for controllers extra. LOUD and bulky and heavy as shit, power supply almost as large as the system. Online play $50 a year

PS3, 120 GB HDD( can be switched out with ANY laptop HDD something the 360 won't allow )blu-ray player( for those that hate blu-ray, plays DVDs an upscales them ) built in wi-fi, controllers charge via USB port, smaller, quieter, lighter. Online FREE. Also game saves and movies and TV shows purchased from PSN can be saved to external storage device. The 360 doesn't allow this. So when you're 360 HDD gets full you're forced to choose which movies/tv shows you want to delete. Yes you can re-download later for free, but that's kind of a pain in the ass. Of course MS doesn't sell a larger HDD than 120 GB. Even if they did they'd charge 2-3 times what it would actually cost. As I said you can't swap out a HDD as you can with a PS3. And let's face it for the same $150 MS charges for it's 120 GB HDD one can get at least a 320-500 GB laptop HDD

Now I'm not saying the 360 is crap. We have one in the house and it's a fine system( and I do prefer the 360 controllers ), but if you are being HONEST and compare what you get for your $300 the PS3 is better. And remember if all you have is $300 you can't play anything online anyways on the 360.

I'm online on my PS3 all the time, and i don't see what the problem is. I have my friends list, i can play who i want, when i want. And it's free !!

So what am i missing about the X-Box online which is so different ?

get both, and if you only one want, take a look at which one had the exclusive games you want to play... most games are on both anyways so it hardly matters online you want stuff like "little big planet" etc..
