Just posting a bunch of pictures and telling everyone how cool they are..... and then throwing in " Sales are going up up up! record sales" " paying our webmasters more then ever!"

Doesn't hide the fact that you still using zango and fucking all of us.

I know you tried to pride yourself as being a good guy, if that is true how can you sleep at night. Seriously, most dirty fuckers wouldn't care if they screwed everyone here. I always took you as different then that, then I found out about this....

I think it will matter to him/them when their sales drop less then what they are making using Zango.

Then they will stop doing it, sue zango, and do some major ass kissing.

This is GFY remember, you could kill someone then say sorry to them and everyone will say how big you are for admitting you did something wrong and they will be buddy buddy with you again. Which is fine with me, I am not trying to kill AFF, i just want them to stop supporting zango and start supporting the affiliates that actually make them fucking money (and stop taking my traffic in the process).

agreed. i dont think anyone wants to see aff go by the wayside. unfortunately, i had to drop them because of their support of zango, but i would not hesitate picking them back up if they dropped zango...

The worst part is even if you drop cams like a fresh hot cow plop, it doesn't matter, because Zango will keep popping them up over other cam sites for a fee. So even if you send all your traffic to another cam site, it is likely that a good enumber of your surfers are still seeing cams or aff on your clicks.

That for me is one of the reasons that Lars is laughing through his fur hat at us... even if you pull the traffic, he still gets the traffic!

agreed, but only until zango and the likes are forced out of business. when zango traffic is gone i expect to see several people begging for affiliates to come back. and this being gfy, they will forgive and forget and come back....

here is my theory. When AFF stops using them and are making no money from them, AFF will not like this, so they will finally sue them. I think a company bigger then zango (which Various Inc. is) can shake up Zango pretty good. at the very least get them to stop using their copyrighted names the other companies will follow suit.

If you're promoting Cams/AFF, they're getting 99% (assuming 2% of the traffic gets Zango pop-ups and 1% are competitor ads) of the traffic.. If you pull their ads, they're now only getting 1% (the other 1% is STILL going to the competitors they say they're trying to protect against). REALLY Stupid business in my opinion and certainly nothing to laugh about.

Tempest, you wish it was only 1%! Zango isn't a lonely company, all alone in the asterixware and scumware world... no sir... tons of companies out there, all selling hits and traffic to the highest bidder. Zango happens to be (a) the most obvious at the moment and (b) the most self righteous of the bunch.

My experiece in stats is about 3% of all surfers I saw had zango toolbar advertising in their headers, an unknown number don't announce it. If there are even only 10 other toolbars as big as Zango (or 100 smaller ones 1/10 the size) then 30% of your traffic is gone. Missy posted before, there are hundreds if not thousands of toolbar scammers out there.

Combine that with (not specific to any program) things like losing track of a surfer, a surfer having previously bought a product from the same company, the links off the tour pages that don't pay you, the link codes that get lost or changed "by accident" because of programming issues, the shave, and 101 other issues, and you are lucky if 30% of your actual traffic makes it to the join page with your affiliate code intact (not specific to cams.com, let me repeat, just generic overall for a generic website).

One popular and well known program (not cam related) counts exactly 10% of the hits I send.

Do yourself a favor... make yourself a nice little redirection page in PHP with a simple counter script in the code, and send all your cam related links through there instead of direct links... then compare it to how many hits they counted. You will be rather surprised.

There are over 400 malware programs in existence, we can't target them all, hell I don't even know them all. One vanishes and 10 more come to life.

In your stats look for these traffic sources:

                                        quickbrowsersearch
                                        abcsearch
                                        exactsearch
                                        starware
                                        giantexplorer
                                        searchscout
                                        mywebsearch
                                        mysearch
many variations of of "mysearch" etc. all adware/toolbars
coolwebsearch - this one has MANY names EXTREME MALWARE
                                        look2me
                                        blowsearch
                                        funwebproducts
                                        and zango of course
and probably many I can't think of right off the top of my head right now.

If they're not spyware/adware/malware, they promote downloads on their sites. At least one of the above had a driveby install at some point, don't know if they still do, I don't get those anymore. That means as soon as you hit the site, it downloads on your computer without your knowledge or permission. And the adware program varied too, not always the same, and sometimes they're bundled, which makes it quite a fun visit!!! It could keep you busy for a few days...

If you use any ppc, including Google and Overture, you're in for quite a surprise! Some of the worst with adware affiliate partners are:

                                        Miva/Findwhat
                                        Enhance
                                        7Search
                                        Epilot
                                        Searchfeed
                                        Overture
and I'm probably forgetting one or two...

Watch Google closely, they don't allow adware to show their ads, but once in a while one of them will silently slip in as a publisher. Don't forget that it's "good business" for any ppcse to use adware, they make more money. However, with Google Adwords, your listings will be hijacked by adware infested surfers if the keywords or URL's are targeted by scumbags. Adware isn't picky, they hijack everything everywhere from anyone if the keyword is right.

Keep a good eye on your stats and weblogs. Some of them, if you spend enough money with them that is, will stop adware affiliates from showing your ads... not permanently though. Keep an eye out, because they will find their way back in and then you have to contact the ppcse and bitch again.

That should give you a good idea of lost traffic and sales. Might be enough to make some of you sick.

and probably many I can't think of right off the top of my head right now.

It could keep you busy for a few days...

so, to be fair, does that mean you support adware or not? how would you feel if zango or any other adware was popping over GFY?

They've been around for a long time, I don't follow them anymore.

And old article on funwebproducts, but it tells you what it is and what it does.

                                                      http://www.networkworld.com/newslett.../1208web2.html

If you go to funwebproducts, this is from their EULA (you can read the whole thing here http://helpint.mywebsearch.com/intlinfo/eula/eula.jhtml ) - look at the URL, no longer funwebproducts...:

"We reserve the right to add additional features or functions to the existing Software. When installed on your computer, the Software periodically communicates with our servers. We may require the updating of the Software on your computer when we release a new version of the Software, or when we make new features available. This update may occur automatically or through other means and may occur all at once or over multiple sessions."

This is what Sunbelt has to say about funwebproducts:

                                                      http://research.sunbelt-software.com...threatid=14912

The important part here is this section under "description":

"Fun Web Products bundles adware software in its products."

Funwebproducts itself is not THE problem, it's what comes with it that could be. It all depends on what surfers downloaded on their site and what they got hit with as part of the free download.
