Today i put a couple of CRT monitors out on the front lawn with a signt that "free, works perfectly'. I thought maybe someone could use them who couldn't afford lcds or whatever. Guess what happens though...some fucking bum who drives around here picking up peoples garbage to resell comes and doesn't take them but fucking cuts the wires off and leaves them! I couldn't believe it. Anyways, I chased him down and made him take the monitors. They are useless now and I'm sure won't be disposed of properly but holy fuck, I couldn't believe that shit.

He is collecting the wire for the copper, and whatever is in it to sell to the scrap yards.
We have a lot of that around here. People who will nit pick through your shit just looking for the steel, copper, and aluminum or whatever it is that scrap yards take by the pound. He knew those monitors were not worth a shit, but he wanted the copper in the wires.

I tried researching places to donate them to around here but found nothing. I posted them on kijiji and gave one away to someone who needed it but no one seems to want them anymore.
