There are people that serve, then there are those that put it on the line, On a submarine, we had balls that clanked, it's tradition, when you read about what the sub's did in WW2, that was what I wanted to do, still one major part of my life. When my daughter sent me pictures of her going thru shellback, I cried. She's tougher than a lot of men I know!
Anyone that serves in the service is a better person for it, you can knock what their rank is or what branch they went into, but only if you served, otherwise, SHUT THE FUCK UP!
My rank when I got out was STS3(SS), and no, no good conduct medal! LOL

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
