how can you tell if your Toe is broken?

I looked it up and they say that there's nothing to you can do with broken Toes. They just heal on their own as long as they're straight.

you would have a pretty steady burning and a good amount of swelling if broken.

although with toes its usually hard to tell unless you break it in half..

most breaks are actually hairline fractures where the bones dont seperate from the break point..

take two aspirins and a shot of tequila and have your girlfriend call me tomorrow..

Generally it will swell up and bruise almost instantly if broken. If it takes a day or two to bruise or it's not very swollen, you are probably ok. But that's a small bone so it's hard to tell.

Even if it is broken, they won't do anything but tell you to take it easy and maybe tape it to your other toe.

That sucks... I did the exact same thing back in mid-May.

To this day the joint of my pinky toe feels slightly bruised and bothers me once in a while.

I hope yours heals faster.

yeah I did that with a pinky toe once, hurt for months and had to wear these shoes that were too big for me for a month or two and it was painful to walk. I stubbed it really hard on something in the middle of the floor. it fucking hurt!

If you very slightly cracked it, it's almost impossible to tell - just keep it wrapped up in an ace bandage and ensure you have it padded and pointed correctly. It'll be fine.

If you feel like hitting the roof when you TRY to bend it, then it's broken.... if it hurts but you can still bend it, it's not broken.

sometimes it is really hard to tell, I broke mine almost a year ago and it still hurts, something must be out of alignment and will not heal, I probably need surgery

Why is it "hard to tell"? I've been shot once, and breaking my little toe was much more painful. I couldn't walk for weeks.

I have a hair line fracture on my left small toe that won't heal. It is totally fine. I can run, walk etc. But damn if it gets touched on top in one spot the pain is almost unbearable!
