    Story of my $200 LA Cab ride............;)

    had an early flight out this morning, up at 4 am, got in about 2......
    Catch a cab to the airport just about to pull in to the departures lane at the airport, when I get this sinking feeling............. OH SHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT......
    I forgot my passort and about 500cdn in the hotel safe. This Revelation comes to me at about 5.20 am ....... 7 am flight.
    So back we go to the hotel. The original cab drivers shift is over so he cant take me back, he calls one of his buddies, while I run to the front desk get another key made, pick up the passport and the $, they transfer the luggage to the other cab.
    So back we go towards the airport, try to get on the highway, only to find it blocked by a recent accident, but by this time we are at the bottom of the ramp.
    I persuade the cabby to back up on the ramp dodging oncoming trafic We go a different route, he's doing 85-90mph zigzagging in n out of traffic.
    We got back to the airport at about 6.25 am rushed tru check in and security and here I am writing this post

    Cab Ride to airport $ 60
    Return Trip to hotel $60
    Trip from hotel Back to airport $80
    Being able to post this from home........ PRICELESS

                                                          The stupid thing is, I always do a walk around in the room prior to leaving to make sure I dont forget anything. What tricked me is the safe is usually in the closet, this time they hid it in the entertainment unit It never occured to me to check there for forgotten items

                                                              I tried changing my flight to Burbank for the trip home, but the flights and times available weren't good. Coming from LAX on weds it took 2 hours with the car service I got. The service this morning with little traffic took under 40 minutes. Was a pleasant trip in the car and through the airport all went nice and smooth.
