I play it now but only for a couple of hours some evenings if I finish my work. Not addictive for me but may not have been the case were I 20 years younger and single. After all, I met the wife playing a MUD.

I used to play it. I would play almost every day for 3-4 hours. Then I decided to cut back just to playing on weekends but I would often spend 10 hours a day playing on the weekends. Eventually I just realized there were better things I could be doing with this time so I sold my character and quit the game.
It's funny, when you cancel your membership to the game they ask you why you are leaving and have a pull down menu. One of the options is addiction.
there were people in my guild that would go to work, come home and play from about 5pm until 3am every week night and were on pretty much all day on the weekends. I also know another person that started playing around the same time I did. She had over 100 days played in a year. So basically she spent about 1/3rd of the hours in that last year playing the game. Pretty crazy.Comment
