Do you have a system to detect cheaters? With an open submission system you're going to have a lot of people trying nasty things like redirecting gals or installing trojans.

There is a spam and site blacklist built into the site. I'm thinking that the ability to leave comments as well as community moderation should weed that out. I'm assuming people who run forums would run into the same sorts of problems but from what I've seen troublesome links seemed to get weeded out pretty quickly.

I can also upgrade users to mod status where they have the ability to edit submissions or discard them altogether. The idea really is that poor quality or outright scam links simply won't get any votes and will never make it to the main page, in which case they are discarded after a few days. Assuming a mod doesn't delete it first.

It's definetly something to think about. I think I may add a link to each submission so that a user can directly report a bad link.
